Despair and Hopelessness Can be Overwhelming
What is this feeling?!
Uhg! My mind feels like I am sitting and thinking about nothing, and I am not certain why my thoughts are engulfed in darkness. People are living in muddled thinking all around us. Sometimes, my face can be seen in that crowded room. When a thinker is cluttered with stuff, it makes it difficult to see any glimmer of hope. Decisions are unable to be made. …even simple ones.
Oh man! When we find ourselves in this emotional abyss, it can be difficult to imagine a way out! Is it even possible to believe “things will ever get better?”
In these moments, it’s important to remember that “feeling hopeless is a normal part of the human experience.” Really? Hopelessness is normal? It should not be, but for many it actually is.
Life throws challenges our way, and sometimes they can seem insurmountable. However, it’s crucial to recognize that there are always options and certainly, there IS hope.
In the world of psychology, the warning signs of depression include “loss of appetite and weight loss, decreased sleep or insomnia, low libido and indecisiveness.” Low libido? I can see the other stuff, as I have been around many people with many of those enemies in their worlds.
Over the years, I have experienced some stress of thought and loneliness that comes from the overwhelming question of “How will I get through this?”
I often resort to trusting the LORD, but it is safe to say, He has not always been my initial process of planning. “What will I do next?” was my focus.
The LORD is my Hope, Source and Help!
The feeling of depression can make a person lose hope that things will get any better. That is a feeling and not the truth.
GOD’s Words are Truth!
All else are jockeying for that position of worth in your mind and life. DON’T give them that authority and seating of preeminence.
Many of us feel sad, lonely, broken and depressed at times. It can be because of poor self-esteem, disorderly life or a reaction to loss. However, when the feelings become overwhelming, they may cause physical symptoms. You must deal with those with prayer, by calling on the name (character) of the Father, your Creator. He wants you and I to lead a normal life. …the life He created for us to do.
If we are pursuing the stuff that the flesh and others want for us, that quest may keep you and I from leading a normal, active and effective life.
"One of the classic symptoms of depression and its manifestations are a low or sad mood. Those are real, yet technically, unreal. “The sadness must be persistent for at least two weeks, before we can diagnose someone for depression”, per the medics. If we allow those feelings to control us, it is more likely that we will give in to them and stop trusting the people sent to us to assist. These same people will frequently have a relationship, hotline and connection with Yeshua (Jesus), and they will have the ability to assist you with becoming free in not only your mind, but life.
Trust Him and don’t let go of Him! He is our Hope!
If we let life in and depression attaches itself, the spirit of depression progresses and starts to take control, the sneaky play of hopelessness will fight to lead. It makes a person look into the future and see only darkness and they will not have the ability to see the Light coming through.
Things will get better, and Hope is yet alive. His Name is Yeshua (Jesus)!
